Trend analysis of disability adjusted life years due to cardiovascular diseases: results from the global burden of disease study 2019

Abstract Background Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the number one cause of global mortality representing about third all deaths across world. The objective present study was to model trend in disability-adjusted life years (DALY) and its components due CVD over past three decades. We also aimed evaluate longitudinal relationship between DALY Human Development Index (HDI) this period time. Methods age-standardized rates lost disability (YLD), (YLL) were extracted for cardiovascular from Global Burden Disease (GBD) Study 2019 1990 2019. Additionally, United Nations Programme (UNDP) database used retrieve HDI values world countries at same analysis performed using joinpoint regression model. Results obtained revealed a significant downward with average annual percent change ? 1.0, 0.3 1.1 per 100,000 population, respectively DALY, YLD YLL. found that high/very high levels have remarkably experienced steeper declining slope than those lower period. Conclusions Although observed decreasing burden is hopeful message countries, considerable gap richer poorer parts serious alarm health policy makers. Regarding this, there an urgent need put more efforts on implementing preventive programs, improving level patients’ care providing efficient treatment, especially regions HDI.
